Trade report: Shiva Ratri releases

Trade report: Shiva Ratri releases

Maha Shiva Ratri witnessed three notable releases at Tollywood box office. Raviteja's Nippu was the red hot one prior to release due to star value and Sunil solely brought instant craze to Poola Rangadu. Siddharth's excessive efforts raised curiosity over his Love Failure. All three films verdict is out and let's see the status of these movies at the box office.

Nippu:

Raviteja's Nippu opened with decent collections, but there is a drastic fall from the second day itself. Nippu has received mostly negative reviews from the noted critics and the public response is even worse. This has been out rightly written off as a disastrous movie. Nippu's collections didn't see any rise on Sunday and Monday (Shiva Ratri). Collections on Tuesday and Wednesday indicate that the film is only going down the hill. As per the trend, Nippu might end up as a bigger flop than Veera for Raviteja.

Poola Rangadu:

Sunil's Poola Rangadu is clear winner among the three releases. Thanks to Sunil's comedy and dances, mass audiences are going gaga over the film. The business is not big in A centers as expected. But the film is getting very good response in B and C centers. Poola Rangadu may collect over 15 crore share in full run, as per the early estimates.

Love Failure:

Siddharth played triple role for this film. He acted, produced and also distributed the movie. Actor Sid is more than happy with the positive response and producer Sid is content for earning back the investment prior to the release. But the distributor Sid has been experiencing mixed results as of now. Love Failure has been doing reasonably good in Hyderabad. But the returns in other areas including big centers like Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam have been below average. The concept and treatment of the film is very urbane and therefore Love Failure is finding it tough to convert the positive response into solid revenue!

Nandini Reddy, the name that went big after the sudden success of ALA MODALAINDI, was heard no where after that. Even her first film ALA MODALAINDI took 1.5 years to hit theatres with many people discouraging her and her product. People thought that Nandini will make the best of this success, but the lady was no where in news. After struggling a lot to make the combination of Siddharth and Samantha work, finally Nandini's movie has hit the floors today. The movie's muhurtham was done in the morning and the director seems pretty excited about it.

The movie is produced by Bellamkonda Suresh, with Siddharth and Samantha pairing up for the first time. Cinelovers are saying that finally, the big fat lady is out of 'jail' which she created for herself to avoid showing face to people.

Siddharth tempting love-shy girl

Siddharth tempting love-shy girl

The southern stud Siddarth may have come out of his teens decades ago but he still manages to pass off as a college student. That's what makes him a heartthrob with the girls. On the personal front, Sidz has been making headlines for his trysts with starlets like Shruti Hassan, Soha Ali Khan etc.

Now, it is heard that Siddharth is busy trying to woo a girl who is miles away from romantic matters. Fortunately, this is happening in reel life and not in real life. Well, sources say this forms the crux of Sidz's new movie 'Love Failure' which also marks his debut as the producer.

The girl in scene happens to be the doe eyed beauty Amala Paul and it is heard that the film has been shaping up well. While the love stories are common popcorn to the audience, it is the way they are packaged and delivered which matters. So, whether Sidz is successful in his love story or not, let us wait and see.

Flop Hero of 2011

Flop Hero of 2011

Tollywood is expecting 2012 to be a better year for big films as 2011 proved disastrous for big budget films. Most of the top rated heroes, except for Mahesh and Prabhas tasted flops in 2011. But one hero who had bitten dust pretty badly is none other than Siddharth.
Sid had three releases in 2011 and all the three looked promising prior to the release. But unfortunately none of the films really set the box office on fire. Anaganaga O Dheerudu, which was released for last Pongal was amongst the biggest flops of the year.
180 too ended up as a disaster. This was a dual disappointment for the actor as it was released in Tamil too. Despite all the hungama done by Dil Raju, Oh My Friend’s final result was disappointing. It did average business in Overseas and Hyderabad, but was a major dud in other areas. With three big flops to his credit, Siddharth is the flop hero of 2011. Among the superstar league, Pawan Kalyan leads the table with two disasters up his sleeve.
