The proverbial bee seems to have gotten under someone’s bonnet because Shruti Haasan has suddenly been handed the walking ticket and Goan beauty, Ileana, is all ready to grab hold of a plum offer and act opposite Pawan Kalyan in Gabbar Singh, the remake of Dabangg.
This comes despite the fact that Shruti was signed by producer Ganesh, who scheduled a 10-day shoot in Tamil Nadu.
However, due to Pawan’s backache; the schedule had to be put off. In the interim, the production house had second thoughts about casting Shruti.
“Ours is a Rs 40 crore project so we preferred to approach a bigger league actress to stitch up a crazy combination and give a fillip to our remake,” says a source.
Apparently, Ileana was approached while she was in Hyderabad shooting for her film with Bunny.
“Yes, we have been approached and we are trying to accommodate the project since it’s a big budget film but nothing is confirmed yet,” says a source close to the actress.
