Like most of the Bombay girls who debut in a b-grade hindi movie and rise to fame down South, Kajal is no exception. After scoring few points with 'Lakshmi Kalyanam' and 'Chandamama', she moved to top spot with 'Magadheera'. As they say, distant mountains are smooth, Kajal was never satisfied with the stardom she had it here and always ran for Bolly opportunities. In pursuit of success, she even posed topless for a magazine and created hulchul in the nightlife of Mumbai. 

After she made some hasty remarks against South Industry when she scored a hit in Bollywood, Telugu producers took it seriously, for which she has corrected her words saying 'South is her first preference'. Off late, Kajal is slowly revealing how much she is regretting for missing out golden chances in Hindi because of her commitments here. Re-inventing Bachchan classics has become quite fashionable in Bollywood. Apoorva Lakhia, who directs the remake of Zanjeer starring Ram Charan Tej, has sought the Bachchans' consent before embarking on his ambitious project.

Lakhia had even offered the lead to Abhishek. According to a source, Abhishek declined saying he wouldn't want to put himself in direct comparison with his father.

Latest news is that, Lakhia has now managed to get Bachchan Sr to do a cameo in his film. "Right now, it's too early to talk about the extent of Bachchan's participation in Zanjeer. But yes, I can't dream of remaking the film without Mr Bachchan, Jayaji and Abhishek's participation. The project has their blessing and support," says Lakhia.

Meanwhile, a reliable source revealed that Big B would soon be meeting the leading man of the new Zanjeer, Ram Charan Tej, with the latter having expressed a keen desire to seek the original Vijay's blessings and advice.

Lakhia has even written a scene where both shares screen space. That's something to look forward to.

The makers are trying to get her dates for Zanjeer remake and the actress is trying to adjust her dates for this movie. Charan wanted to adjust the schedules as per Deepika's freetime as he wish to pair up with her at any cost.

These are the days when even small budget movies at the range of Rs 4 cr- Rs 6 cr find it hard to recover their investment. Amidst this situation, here is one film which has been made at a whopping budget of Rs 62 crores, is yet to hit the screens but has already recovered the entire investment.

We are talking about the film ‘Agneepath’ slated to hit the screens on January 26th. Sources say the film raked in Rs 35 crores out of the satellite rights and the noted banner Eros has reportedly purchased the overseas rights by shelling Rs 15 crores. The other update is that music, home and video rights have contributed Rs 12 crores.

The cine pundits predict that the film looks sure to hit the Rs 100 crores club after its release. Already, a special screening was held in Mumbai and it got an overwhelming response. The film has Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt clashing with each other while Karan Johar is the producer. Pout lipped beauty Priyanka Chopra is the leading lady while the angel of beauty Katrina Kaif is offering the item song ‘Chikni Chameli’.

Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have been named the most profitable actors of the Hindi film industry in India and abroad respectively by ETC Bollywood Business Awards.

“Receiving an award wherein you are being adjudged considering the economic quotient as a cornerstone for mapping the success gives you a sense of pride. I’ve always maintained that commercial success is as important as the critical success of a movie. A commercially successful movie pays evidence to the fact that viewers loved watching your movie,” Kareena said in a press statement.

Actress Kareena Kapoor, who featured in Bodyguardand RA.One in 2011 opposite the two actors, has been titled the most profitable actor in the female category.

Salman’s Bodyguard, the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film by the same name, was titled the top grosser of the year. The film’s director Siddique, walked away with the most profitable director’s trophy.

SRK’s mega-budget dream project RA.One was recognised as the best marketed film of the year and also bagged an award under the highest single day collection category.

“Allah has been very kind to me and helped me to entertain my audiences and it is quite literally my audiences’ love that has fetched me these awards. Inshallah! I’ll continue to entertain my audiences and make it to this award in years to come,” he added.

“Now I can safely say ‘har mulk ki public mujhe dhoondti hai’. ‘RA.One’, Bollywood’s most expensive movie, was my dream project. It feels great that my long cherished dream has been applauded and acknowledged,” said Shah Rukh.

Other films like Pyaar Ka Panchnaama, The Dirty Picture, Don 2:The King Is Back and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol bagged awards for being the most successful small budget Film, ETC Box Office surprise of the year, most popular first look of a film and most successful foreign film respectively.

The ETC Bollywood Business Awards will be aired on Monday.

VILLAIN SUPREETH ENTERS BOLLYWOOD

Telugu actor Supreeth has just expanded his footprint to Bollywood. The villain cum character artiste, who has become popular for his stubborn roles in movies like Chatrapathi (Katraj), Maryada Ramanna, etc., would be now testing waters in Bollywoood. Supreeth would be working with the likes of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar in his upcoming Hindi movie Rowdy Rathore, a remake of Telugu super hit, Vikramarkudu starring Ravi Teja. Remember, Supreeth played as one of the baddies in Aamir Khan’s Ghajini but this time around in Rowdy Rathore; he plays the main antagonist, a role originally essayed by Ajay in Telugu.  The film is being directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Supreeth will join the shoot from Jan 9th in Badami, Karnataka.
