Charan facing biggest challenge of his career

Ram Charan feels stepping into Amitabh Bachchan's shoes with the remake of iconic film Zanjeer is the biggest challenge of his life. "Till now, dealing with being Megastar Chiru's son has been a challenge. But that's nothing when compared with what I'm facing at present," said Charan, when asked how he feels to play the role portrayed by India's biggest star nearly four decades ago.

The young actor is not bothered about the comparisons being drawn between him and Big B. "All through my career, I have gone through constant comparisons. If I think about how I'll be compared with my father or Amit Ji, I wouldn't be able to get into the skin of the character. I just did the things that I'm good at and what came naturally to me," he told.

The Magadheera star says language doesn't matter much and clarified that he sees debuting into Bollywood as just like an extension of what he is already doing.

Racha collects record first week share

Ram Charan has set a new benchmark in terms of collections with his recent outing 'Racha'. The film which was released on April 5th turned into a money spinner at the Box Office.

In just one week, the film has raked in Rs 26.92 crore share and Rs. 37.83 crore gross in AP and Karnataka. If the revenues of Overseas, Tamil Nadu (Tamil version Ragalai) and Rest Of India are included, then the first share will be nearly Rs 35 crore. In it's full run, the collections of Racha are expected to cross the 50 crore mark. So, it's celebration time for the Mega fans!

Censor Dhanalaxmi Closed Eyes On 'Racha'

Censor Dhanalaxmi Closed Eyes On 'Racha'

For folks who are new, Dhanalaxmi is a half Telugu, half Tamil Censor officer for AP Censor board. She is known for her 'sharp cutting' works which give tensions to producers and directors. But, her attitude towards 'Racha' became a hot discussion now.

Dhanalaxmi is known for her iron cutting in terms of heroine's waist, navel and cleavage shots. Films like 'Buisnessman' and 'Panjaa' haven't escaped from her scissors and had blurred images all over the skin shows of female artists. Coming to 'Racha', the film was given a U/A certificate saying that all bloodshed was completely eliminated. Then, what about Tamanna's seductive skin shows? Milky beauty made most of her assets pierce the hearts of youth through her glamour on screen.

In 'Vaana Vaana' song alone Tammu babe oscillates her waist and hip, around three times in front of camera giving an ample view of her shapely back. 'How come Dhanalaxmi spared such a hot show of Tamanna in 'Racha' by closing her eyes', a big-shot producer questioned. They say, this officer doesn't like cleavage and navel show, but bare-backs are fine with her.

Racha Became a Strong Platform For Ramcharan

Racha Became a Strong Platform For Ramcharan

Some movies never stand out as 'masterpiece' but they lay foundation for the prosperity of their hero. Looks like, same thing is happening with 'Racha' for our Mega Power Star.

Irrespective of an old fashioned story and simple narration, Racha is doing wonders at Box Office only due to the stamina of RamCharan. 'With that thumping energy and thunderous voice, Charan proved the real star in him. It is working in his favor to woo producers from different cine circuits', say critics. Right from Bollywood to Kollywood many big production houses are now gearing up to sign deals with Charan after watching his sparkling show in this latest flick.

A source from Hindi circuit reveals that if Charan scores marks with his Bolly debut 'Zanjeer', then there is no doubt he will become 'star' across the Indian film circuits. One can now say, Racha is more of a showreel of Charan to impress producers than a blockbuster movie.

Racha super-positive Censor report

Racha super-positive Censor report

Seems like, Ram Charan is quite happy with the response from the Censor board members after watching Racha. "Censor just got done. Very positive report. Movie is all set and confirmed to release on 5th april. All the best to my team," tweeted Charan.

Racha is one the most awaited films of the year and Charan's film is releasing after 18 months gap. His last film 'Orange' hadn't fared well at the Box Office and left fans disappointed. Charan waited for four months for the right script after 'Orange' failure. Finally, he gave his nod to the script narrated by Sampath Nandi.

A whopping budget of Rs. 45 crore has gone into the making of this film. The highlights of the film - Ram Charan's characterization, Rs 2 crore fight sequence shot in the Bamboo Forest in China,  Gang Leader remix song 'Vaana Vaana Velluvaye', Charan's dance moves and Tamanna's glamour. While the Telugu and Malayalam versions are planned to hit the screens on April 5th, the Tamil version will be released on April 6th. If the Censor report comes true, then surely Mega fans will have a blast!

Tamanna Name In Lyrics, Chiru's Idea!

Till date the fashion is to insert the screen-name of heroine in the lyrics of songs. We have thousands of such numbers in Tollywood from times ancient. Now, the fashion is tagging heroine's real name itself.

May be you still remember 'Ileana' song from 'Snehitudu' movie, which praises the 'belly' of hot Goa beauty with tempting words. Latest entry is 'Tamanna' song in Ramcharan's upcoming movie 'Racha'. However, 'Dil Ki Tamanna' is one famous line in Hindi circuit which was used in many songs till date. The person behind writing her name in lyrics is said to be Megastar Chiru. More than projecting his stardom and talent, Chiru knows how to use the popularity of heroines to promote the film better, say cine observers.

Ram Charan too should learn these tricks of the trade for stunning success, they say. Sources close to Charan said, 'he is very much talented than his Dad, indeed it is his idea to use Tamanna's name'. Whatever it is, Mega family is using Tamanna like a trump card to make all stones turned for 'Racha'!

Last days for Mahesh Babu's record

Last days for Mahesh Babu's record

Superstar Mahesh Babu has set a new record in opening collections with Businessman. This film has set a benchmark for Telugu films in terms of openings and now Mahesh's competitors are gearing up to have a go at it. One or more summer releases are sure to surpass Businessman record, opine trade analysts.

Racha, Dammu and Gabbar Singh are going to release in more than thousand theaters across the globe and all these movies are carrying high expectations. All these films are going to take a bumper opening at the box office. If supported by decent content, then these films will surely set new records in openings. Pawan, NTR and Charan have superb mass following and their crowd pulling stamina cannot be questioned.

Trade also expect one or more from the summer releases to make it to all time top five list of Tollywood. Charan already holds the number one slot. Pawan and NTR are yet to make it to the list. Looks like time has come for the biggest mass stars to prove their mettle. Let's hope all these three films hit bull's eye and shake the box office like never before.

Ram Charan's shocking Bollywood connection

Ram Charan's shocking Bollywood connection

The contacts of Ram Charan with Bollywood is beyond anyone's expectations. The list of names will prove that he belongs to an entirely different league, which no other Tollywood hero couldn't even dare to dream!

'Charan attended a Christmas party organized Shahrukh Khan at his house as one of the guests, chilled out at Salman Khan's house during his stay in Mumbai, has had close contacts with Aamir Khan's family, had a elaborate dinner with love-birds Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, good friends with Rana's alleged girlfriend Bipasha Babu and last but not the least, Bollywood's renowned director-cum-produced Karan Johar called him over phone the other day to ask whether he needs any help for his debut B-Town flick' - this is just a sample and the list goes on!

Not to forget that whatever recognition Charan has been acquiring is only because of his father Chiranjeevi. "Chiru enjoys a special treatment wherever he goes, especially in the film world, where he was greatly respected by one and all for his services to the Industry. 'Whether it is Chirala or Chicago, Megastar is always Megastar!' - a famous quote by one of his fan. This is very true and the same treatment was now offered to his Son," said a film critic.

Ram Charan banks on him and her !

Ram Charan banks on him and her !

Ram Charan's Racha is going to be the first film to release in Tamil and Malayalam along with Telugu. Earlier NTR's Shakti released in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously and Allu Arjun's Badrinath released on the same day in Malayalam and Telugu. Mahesh Babu's Businessman was planned to release in Tamil and Malayalam, but that didn't happen.

Racha producers are making sure that it releases in Tamil and Malayalam in a big way. Ram Charan can assure bumper opening in Telugu, but how can one expect him to draw crowds in Tamilnadu and Kerala? Cherry gets good support from Tamanna to grab the attention of Tamilians. Tamanna is a well known actress and darling of masses in Tamilnadu. Her presence can pull good number of audience and the rest will depend upon the film's worth.

Charan's Magadheera did well in Malayalam, but Allu Arjun's cousin factor will act as a buffer to him for Racha. We all know that Bunny is a very big crowd puller in Kerala. If Racha manages to entertain Kerala audience, Allu Arjun's name would help to get the major pull. Let's wait and watch if Racha possess the content that has universal acceptance or not?

Sad Evening For Mega-Powerstar Fans

Some moments can never be forgotten whether they are good or bad. One such ugly moment that depressed Mega-Powerstar fans long time back is hurting them again.

Long back, Nandi Award to a particular actor in Best-Actor category raised the eyebrows of both critics and fans. While everyone expected a sure award for Ramcharan's hair raising performance in blockbuster 'Magadheera', veteran director Dasari walked with the prize for his lesser known movie 'Mestri'. Thanks to lobbying and politics inside the jury member camp. 2009 Nandi Awards were announced but not awarded and that is going to happen today evening. Both for 2009 and 2010, Government is going to give away the shields to respective winners on this Ugadi evening.

Needless to say, Mega-Power fans are haunted with pain once again for that forgotten wound. Anyways, Charan is going to receive a Special Jury Award for his brilliant performance in the role of 'Kaal Bhairava' for the same movie.

'Rachcha' to shake Lungis in south

'Rachcha' to shake Lungis in south

It is known news that mega powerstar Ram Charan Tej is all set to arrive with his new movie 'Rachcha' and recently he also wrapped up his dubbing portion. Now, it is  heard that the makers have decided to make the release big and they would be having a simultaneous release in Malayalam.

Sources say the Mollywood version has been titled as 'Raksha' and given the fact that Cherry's cousin Allu Arjun has already got a strong following  among the Kerala  masses, they want the same reception for Charan too. On the other hand, the young heroes have been coming up with plans to expand their presence in other regions.

The film is directed by Sampath Nandi and a lot is also being rested on the glamour quotient of the leading lady Tamannah. The milky white beauty has burned the screen to ashes with her hot sex appeal and few stills and promos of the film have been evidence enough. Let us see how the Kerala lungis shake with our Cherry boy and Tammu girl now.

Rana, Ram Charan and who else?

Rana, Ram Charan and who else?

A new trend is being observed among the young heroes of Tollywood. Though they are yet to find their feet properly in the Telugu circuit, they have already started making plans of expanding their presence and in the case of few lads, they are already targeting the big Bollywood base.

Well, the towering hunk Daggubati Rana has already started his foray and soon he would be arriving with his second Hindi movie 'Department'. On the other hand, mega powerstar Ram Charan Tej has begun preparing for his debut through the remake of the cult hit movie 'Zanjeer' to be directed by Apoorva Lakhia.

Now, the Tollywood seniors are keeping their fingers crossed to see who else will join the bandwagon. In between, there was a talk about Yuva Samrat Naga Chaitanya planning his debut and even prince Mahesh Babu's name made few strong rounds. The point is, how going to Bollywood will justify their ability as a crowd pulling hero. Perhaps they should take a lesson or two from the likes of Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna etc.

No Bollywood Hero could match Ram Charan

No Bollywood Hero could match Ram Charan

Bollywood filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia ('Shootout At Lokhandwala' fame) justified his decision to cast Ram Charan in the remake of Zanjeer. The young actor will don the role of a tough cop, which was originally essayed by B-Town superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

"Someone who is young will suit the role of the protagonist in this remake. In my opinion, most of the Bollywood heroes fit for romantic comedies and light-hearted entertainers. There is no young action hero in Bollywood. Ram Charan is unconventionally good looking and already a proven action hero in the South. He's perfect for the role of an angry young man," said the director.

Lakhia revealed that Ram Charan took a lot of time to sign his first Bollywood film. "It took almost an year for me to convince the actor to sign the film. The transition from a big star (in Tollywood) to a new-comer (in Bollywood) is never gonna be easy,"

The director clarified that the script of this remake will be contemporary to suit the taste of Today's audience. The film deals with the oil mafia, also include episodes like murders of sonavane and journalist J Dey. A leading heroine will play the female lead and plans are on to rope prominent actors for key roles. This film will go to the floors in the second half of 2012.

Why Ram Charan not interested in Hyderabad?

Why Ram Charan not interested in Hyderabad?

Mega Powerstar Ram Charan is making sure that the audio launch of his upcoming flick 'Racha' is held at any place in the state other than Hyderabad. We are aware that the marriage ceremony of Charan and Upasana is going to take place in Hyderabad. So, the actor feels that instead of repeating the same venue for every occasion, its better to try different places which would bring him close to the fans of all the regions.

Although Ram Charan intially considered Tirupati for the audio launch, the plans were now altered. As Charan will be hosting his wedding reception in the Temple town in June, he doesn't want to repeat the same venue. After much thought, the star has zeroed in on Kurnool for the grand gala event. Not to forget that Kurnool has a special place in the heart of Charan. It was in Kurnool Lakshmi theatre, his magnum opus 'Magadheera' ran for 2 years at a strecth, which is touted to be one of the rare records in the Industry. Currently, Racha team has been scouting the venues for audio launch of the film in the district.

Ram Charan repeats the same mistake

Ram Charan repeats the same mistake

Ram Charan did Orange movie in a hurry as he felt that so much time was spent on Magadheera. Orange shooting was started without proper script and was stopped for sometime in the middle. In between Charan started working on Merupu and that was scrapped after canning one song.

Later Orange was made with a different 'half baked' script and tasted a bitter result. All this happened due to hurriedness of Charan. He thought of covering it up with his next film, but didn't get a proper script to start off with. Despite being aware of director Sampath Nandi's inexperience he gave green signal to work under him for Racha.

Initial plan was to complete this movie in few days and on a limited budget. But Sampath's inexperience didn't get things going. Racha has been delayed in the production stage and there were so many changes done to the script during this process. Now the budget of Racha too went overboard and nothing short of a blockbuster could recover the costs for the producers.

Ram Charan's career-plan shocks one & all!

Ram Charan's career-plan shocks one & all!

Young hero Ram Charan is going places with the kind of assignments he is undertaking. Slowly, he is setting out a perfect example in planning one's career and this is a shock for industry's many big heroes.

Till he announced 'Racha', mud was shot on this young hero regarding his upcoming flick. It took some time for this young man to come out of the debacle of 'Orange'. Even after announcing 'Racha', Cherry encountered lot of criticism for delays in the flick. As the film is nearing completion, Charan is shocking everyone by signing films back to back with top slot directors.

After 'Racha', Vamsi Padipalli's Yevadu is the venture of Charan, which is immediately followed by VV Vinayak's movie. According to the buzz, Srinu Vytla's project will be followed after the completion of these two movies under the production of Ashwini Dutt. Barely 3 movies old, Ram Charan's meticulous planning and serious execution is the talked about news all over industry. Good Luck Ram Charan!

Ram Charan goes all the way for her

Ram Charan goes all the way for her

Ram Charan is a big admirer of Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone. He was elated when she did a commercial (Pepsi) with him in the past. He wished to act with her in a feature film. There were rumors that he tried to bring her down to South, but Deepika is too busy in Bollywood to act in a Telugu movie.

Finally Ram Charan himself had to move up to reach her! We all know that Ram Charan is planning to do a Bollywood film soon. Charan is making debut in Hindi cinema with Amitabh's film Zanjeer remake. This film will be made in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously.

If the sources are to be believed, Deepika is the first choice heroine for this film. The makers are trying to get her dates for Zanjeer remake and the actress is trying to adjust her dates for this movie. Charan wanted to adjust the schedules as per Deepika's freetime as he wish to pair up with her at any cost.

Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan to clash ?

Tollywood has seen amazing battles between top heroes since long. How one can forget rivalries between NTR vs ANR, along with Krishna, Krishnam Raju and Sobhan Babu. Cherry already announced his intention to make a blast in bollywood with remake of Big B Amitabh's yesteryear superhit 'Zanjeer'. Many wonder if they are vying for the top spot in Bollywood will they compete with fake records or in a true battle for their quest for glory.
